Definition Of Discrimination

Discrimination is a differential treatment given to be a person because of age, gender, disability, nationality or color. These are the different kinds of discrimination existent in the society. Every person has the legal right to be fully recognized and respected no matter where they come from or where they are born. There are different kinds of discrimination in the society today.

Age discrimination is mainly faced by seniors and they re denied several services or jobs because of their age. This type of discrimination is called age discrimination and it is covered by the Americans with Disabilities Act and Discrimination Act which are an integral part of the Civil Rights.

Racial discrimination is based on color and especially in the United States the blacks or the African Americans faced the racial discrimination to an extreme extent. Today people from several origins like Mexicans and other communities face racial discrimination.

Discrimination based on nationality is also a common problem where people from other nations such as China, Korea and India are given a differential treatment by employers, educational institutions and other public services places.

Gender based discrimination affects the women more where they do not get equal opportunities like the men. Several employers are gender biased and give better opportunities to men.

Discrimination based on disability is also a problem in the society where people with physical or mental disabilities are treated as invalids. They are not give proper job opportunities and also sometimes find it difficult to access public services.
