The United States has always been known as the land of opportunities and has had several immigrants coming in search of the American dream for too many decades now. However, the current day immigration policies in the US are not that simple and have become very stringent. One of the main reasons for such stringent rules is homeland security and the war against terrorism. However, the US has been facing an upsurge of immigrants in the recent past and that is why several people are getting rejected from requests of green cards or citizenship. Many people had to return to their homeland after living several years in the US. After the 9/11 catastrophe, several people from Middle East and Arab nationals have even been deported.
Today, people from Middle East, Muslims and Arab nationals are being discriminated and are invariably treated as terrorists. Even if the last name or their first name remotely sounds like Arab name they are discriminated in medical institutions, employment and also from public utility places. The immigration has been additionally stringent with the Arab nationals. This not only applies to Arab nationals but any country that has a terrorism background. The rate of deportation has been ever high for Mexicans and people from other terrorism oriented countries. There is a possibility that the act of discrimination is being followed by the US Immigration Department in a discreet manner.
