Preventing age discrimination is in our very own hands. An employee has to make amendments and include in their literature that age discrimination should not be practiced. Every employer should have a handbook on work ethics and culture of their organization which all employees need to follow. In that they also need to include that the act of discriminating based on age should not be encouraged or followed by any hiring professional of the company.
When new employees get inducted into the company, they should be educated about the values and ethics of the company. Also, hiring managers should be familiar with the laws and values of the company. The person responsible for interviewing others should be careful and also should not give consideration to age beyond a point. The job applications should not have any discriminating notes like people in a certain age group only need to apply and so on. Also when the company gives public ads about the employment opportunities the advertisements should be carefully worded and should not contain any discriminating sentences which may offend people.
