When it comes to jobs and promotions at work place, several people are over looked because they are getting old. This is nothing but age discrimination on the part of the employer and other employees in higher positions. They are purely rejected because they are too old and all the experience, knowledge and other merits are over looked. However, the Federal employment law prohibits age discrimination and it is a legally punishable act.

Preventing age discrimination is in our very own hands. An employee has to make amendments and include in their literature that age discrimination should not be practiced. Every employer should have a handbook on work ethics and culture of their organization which all employees need to follow. In that they also need to include that the act of discriminating based on age should not be encouraged or followed by any hiring professional of the company.

When new employees get inducted into the company, they should be educated about the values and ethics of the company. Also, hiring managers should be familiar with the laws and values of the company.
