In case the employee who feels discriminated by the employer files a case, the employer will have a tougher time dealing and justifying such cases. Every employee should make it a company policy that discrimination on any grounds is not allowed for the employees. Even when the employer has such policies, some employees who hold influential positions may practice discrimination.

Workplace employee discrimination can occur on various grounds and one of the most recent ones to be added to the list is the obesity discrimination. Some employers reject applications from obese people because they do not want to pay higher insurance premiums because of their body mass index. The same is the case with the age discrimination where the applications from senior people are rejected based on age. Such people are also fired without reason and they are subject to degradation by denied promotions and so on. If the employer has been sued by an employee for discrimination, then they have to pay financial penalties and other legal penalties as well. The company’s image is also harmed and they are not seen as an ideal employer in the job market. In the future the company will find it difficult to hire people because of their employment practices.
