However, just opinions does not matter and affect people in anyway. However, if the same opinions are exhibited against them at the time of employment or any other opportunity, then it becomes a problem and also hurtful for the gender that is being discriminated. Until not very long time ago, women were not considered for managerial positions and they were put off on some pretext or the other. Also, until the mid nineteenth century, women were not allowed to work because the father or the man of the house was the main bread winner.
Gender discrimination can be mainly perpetrated by the society and own family. Mostly women are the targets and often they are discriminated by their own family and neighbors. A lot of reasons for discrimination lie in the upbringing of the families. Men and women who come from such families have preset ideas about what kind of things men and women should do. Also, men have huge egos that prevent them from thinking that a woman can be an equal counterpart in their marital life or work life. However, today, women play an equal role as men in working and taking care of the house and children at the same time.
