Even children do not often understand that it is gender discrimination. However, as a parent if you do identify the possibility of it then you should approach the school and raise the topic of discrimination directly with the principal. Also, maintain a professional attitude when you do hat and the school should be willing to help you out.
Gender discrimination can occur at various levels. For example, the teacher might like girls more than boys or the other way around. Personal preferences do show in professional life also for most of us. However, due to our personal choices another person should not suffer and especially not school children. The children may experience a set back if such is the case. For example, if in a certain classroom boys are doing exceptionally better than girls t hen there could be something wrong and it could be their result of gender discrimination pattern also. Parents with school children should be keen in observing these possibilities and keeping a close track on their school record and performance. The law guarantees children according to Title IX of the Discrimination Act that children will not be discriminated based on gender or sex.
