There are all kinds of sports today that are national mania and people love watching and participating in sports. Also, today we see women participating in different types of athletic sports at ape with men. However, many people feel that sports section is more stereo typed because we find women only in certain segment of sports and the remaining is all taken over by men. |

It is common to see women in tennis, swimming, running, gymnastics, badminton and other activities that are milder. However, there are several sports where there is no trace of women anywhere. So, this also shows that women are continued to be viewed as weaker sex in some cases. Although there is a law that says discrimination based on gender and sex is not allowed as per law and is punishable there is still plenty of it seen.
Women are never seen in sports like Golf, football and baseball.
This kind of discrimination starts in the school system itself where girl children are not given an opportunity to take part in boy’s sports. There are always boy’s team and girl’s team separately and boy’s teams get promoted by a large extent. Nobody invests interest and growth funds in a girl’s team. May be girls can also improve in the game if given an opportunity. This is nothing but gender discrimination if you think about it. Athletics regulation that comes under the civil rights act does not allow discrimination and it is clearly defined that girls or women can participate in all kinds of sports.
