However, it is till present in the older group of people. However, some women cannot continue their work life for a long time. They drop out to raise children and also they have other commitments. This causes men in higher positions to naturally prefer men for higher roles. It is expensive for a company to place a woman in a higher role and then see them go.
Women according to behavior experts can be divided into workaholics and non workaholics. The qualities of workaholic women can be seen right form the beginning and they easily step on to the ladder of success. However, it is not the same case with women who are non workaholics. Also, several businesses tend to pay women lesser pays because of the kind of attendance and stuff they get from them. Now after the Employment Act is more particular about the gender discrimination acts the pay scales have been standardized. The same amount of work will demand same amount of pay irrespective of the gender and who is doing the work. Gender discrimination at the work place is caused by women themselves sometimes due to their under performance.
