Gender Discrimination Law In The United States
The gender discrimination laws are a part of the equal employment act and fair housing ct in the US. However, even though the laws against gender discrimination are very stringent women are still victims of this type of discrimination and gender biased behavior of their bosses. If it is not discrimination based on gender, then it is sexual harassment for women. Even sexual harassment is considered to be a form of gender discrimination. |

Even after several years of the Equal Pay Law being passed, the change never really came until recently. Today, it is noticed that under the thirty age group, the Hispanics and African Americans men and women, and gays draw similar salaries for the same amount of work done. This is a big change finally and we can claim that the gender bias is disappearing slowly from the society. It is a welcome change.
When two sexes are putting equal amount of work in their respective job roles then even their pay and growth opportunity should be the same. There is no reason for it to be different; also previously women were shunned from being opted for managerial roles because they are most likely to resign after some time due to familial responsibilities. However, even this is disappearing and women are now more commonly found in higher positions.
The discrimination based on sex was first addressed by the government in 1968. After that the gender was also included in the Fair Housing Act and Equal Employment Act. Only after a decade and a half did the real change come in the people to accept both the genders equally.
