While most of the African American population speaks in English just like other Americans do, the Hispanics have a problem with English language. Spanish is their main language and widely used in the US too. There are lot of diverse cultures speaking various languages like Samoan and Maori.
Different people speak English differently and everyone does not sound the same when they talk. Some times at work place discrimination occurs on the basis of language. For example Hispanics may get treated differently because they cannot speak English well. This type of discrimination falls under race and caste discrimination under the fair labor act. Discrimination will exists when there is differential treatment meted out against a specific community in the work place or the society. Language discrimination is called linguicism or logocism.
When a country is bilingual or multilingual there should not be indiscrimination present on the basis of caste or creed and race and languages. Only then can a country be known as bilingual. In the US, even Spanish is accepted as an official language and people can opt it is an extra language in school or college. Also, today Spanish being a recognized language, separate support centers in Spanish is set up for Spanish speaking people.
