Juvenile Crime Age In Different States

Among the fifty states of the US, each state has its own statistics on juvenile crime. In some states the crime rate in general is much higher like Georgia, New York and Massachusetts. There are several influencing factors as to why the crime rate could be higher in these states.

The rate of juvenile crime in California is exceptionally higher especially in cities like Los Angeles. A pattern was observed that in States that have a higher number of mixed populations the crime rate has also been fairly high. When the adult crime rate is higher, then the juvenile crime rate also goes higher. However, on a note of comparison among various states the Juvenile crime rate age seemed to be very similar. Kids whoa are often arrested for crime fall in the age group of 16 to 19.

This age is a very difficult one to handle by parents also. Being a very impressionable age and an age where kids are forming their own personality it is very difficult for parents also to control them. Kids deal with immense peer pressure and the need for being popular at this age. They do not understand what is harmful for them and what is not at this age too. If children do not accept to rules at home, then they are highly unlikely to conform to the rules of the society and law. The roots for juvenile crime often lie in childhood and upbringing. If the children have been exposed to crime at an early age, they lose respect for law and are most likely to indulge in criminal activities themselves.
