Juvenile Crime Age

A thirty-year study was conducted in Ohio to determine at what age group are the incidents of juvenile crime higher. The research clearly indicated that there was a direct link between prenatal and childhood exposure to juvenile crime. Kids who grow up seeing criminal behavior in the neighborhood and family are most likely to indulge in it too. Early exposure to crime only forms stronger ideas among children.

The neurological and behavior patterns of the parents also have a heavy impact on children. A statistics of the kids who have been in juvenile prison also shows that they are likely to indulge in criminal activities as adults.

It has been found that over a period of three decades the juvenile crime arte was much higher among the age group of kids who are between 16 and 19. Such kids are rather used to more freedom and also tend to develop their own individual personality. The crime rate among the age group of 13 to 15 was much lower even though it existed. One of the main reasons why kids indulged in juvenile crime was peer pressure and also the surrounding influence on them. Children, who were at this age and are badly neglected by parents, often take up to criminal activities due to peer pressure. If parents have not been vigilant about what type of friends they have, often have their children involved in criminal activities. The criminal activities can range from normal shop lifting to drug dealing in their teen years.
