IMMIGRANTS SOLUTIONS
Illegal immigration has many pitfalls for a country and its citizens. However, even illegal immigrants are affected. That is why it is important for any country which faces high levels of illegal immigration to find immigrant solutions. |
|
Illegal immigrants end up living in overcrowded single family homes with nothing more than a mattress to their name; overflowing septic tanks; unsafe neighborhoods; and overloaded electrical outlets.
It is frustrating to go to certain parts of America and be disturbed by the sights one sees on account of illegal immigration. You do not have to be a racists or anti-immigration to feel anger.
Immigrant solutions can only happen at the national level. Unfortunately many politicians like exploit the fears that people already have about immigrants. And in turn, these politicians make the immigrants live in constant fear; thereby distancing them even further from the community and acceptable standard of living.
Most immigrants spend their lives in their adopted country cleaning homes, landscaping yards, maintaining clubs, cleaning and preparing meals in restaurants. Many cities are now dependent on these illegal immigrants for their cheap labor. However, these illegal immigrants live on the edge of society even though they are an integral part of our economy.
Immigrants solutions can be achieved by realigning our national immigration policy where the concerns of middle-class families have to be addressed as these families are faced with unemployment issues as the labor market prefers to use cheap illegal immigrants. The U.S lawmakers have to ensure that employers are not able to use illegal immigrants. However, many states are making an effort to crack down on illegal immigrants by ensuring that labor laws are enforced.
Once a country figures out what it needs from illegal immigrants, immigrants solutions would be easy to implement to a certain extent. However, we have to help the immigrants to participate in our civic lives and teach them our language and ways if we want to integrate into our society completely. This means allowing bilingual education during the transitional phase, and also revising the visa program so that more skilled immigrants are attracted.
