Help With The Cost Of Naturalization

Naturalization is the process of acquiring citizenship and equal rights of a country adopted by somebody who was not born there. This is a huge phenomenon worldwide with uncountable people naturalizing every year to the country of their choice. The US is usually the first choice of any hopeful candidate because of the host of opportunities the country offers to all the immigrants. Thus, this article is directed towards people hoping to naturalize in this country.

The cost of naturalization in America is $675 as of August of 2009. This amount is to be paid using money order in the name of the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, or better understood as USCIS. This organization deals with every issue related to immigration and naturalization in the US, like the issuing visa, transferring them, issuing green card and citizenship to the immigrants, etc.

This amount of $675 is taken for covering the costs of preparing the necessary documents and also for the mandatory test each and every immigrant hoping to naturalize in the United States must go through. This test involves monitoring the candidate’s command over the English language, and knowledge of civics. A second chance is given if the applicant fails to pass the test on the first attempt. However, the amount mentioned for this process is to be paid again.
