How To Become A Us Permanent Resident ?

The U.S has long attracted people from all over the world to come and settle down in the country. This is because the country has vast opportunities and resources for people with many needs and expectations. It fails to disappoint anyone coming with job desires, wanting improved lifestyles, etc. Thus, getting the status of a permanent resident in the U.S has now become a long and complicated process due to the huge and varied number of people applying for it each year.

The primary step of obtaining a permanent residency in the U.S is to get an immigration visa. This type of visa enables the holder to work and live in the country for a stipulated time. But this visa will be issued to the applicant only if he has someone residing in America permanently or has a job in a company based in the U.S.

Now, an immigration petition is required to be approved by the authorities and a visa number is then got. However, a visa number is not required if an immediate relative is sponsored. Now, for those residing in the US can request the authorities to adjust their permanent residence status. But those who are not yet living in the States need not come down there specifically for that purpose. The request can be submitted at the local US consulate. Now, the immigrant becomes the legal permanent resident of the U.S once the request is approved. Then he can apply for citizenship of the country. This process in some cases can take years to happen. So patience is required in all times.
