How To Renew Permanent Resident Card ?
A permanent resident card is also known popularly as the Green Card. It is an all important thing to possess for anyone hoping to immigrate to another country. It becomes all the more valuable because not only it serves as the only main proof of a foreigner’s permanent resident status, but is also very hard to get hold of, especially in countries in demand like the US and Great Britain. But, this Green Card also comes with an expiry date and has to be renewed after that. |
Most developed countries like America has an online filling procedure which could be followed to renew the permanent residence card of an individual. Form I-90 is to be filed, which is the Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card. Then, after signing up there with the applicant’s own account, an e-file of the form he filled out would be created. This e-file should then be transferred to the E-File website using the link posted in Resources. The present amount of $370 is to be paid online using the individual’s credit card or debit card, or using e-fund transfer facility from the bank where a valid account is maintained by the applicant.
For people renewing their Permanent Resident Card, a copy of the Green Card is to be mailed to the following address:
National Benefits Center
Attn: E-Filed I-90 Applications
P.O. Box 648012
Lee's Summit, MO 64002.
After this, the applicant for the renewal process will be called for a biometrics appointment, where he will have to give his fingerprints and photos. The Permanent Residence Card will be renewed and mailed within the next 10 working days. It should be noted that the above article is written keeping the American laws and terms in mind.
